Wines of Croatia Discovers Veliki Plavac Mali

Bastijana was delighted to welcome our old friend Cliff Rames from New York recently. Cliff, who has done sterling work promoting Croatian wine on the international stage via his Wines of Croatia Facebook page and blog, enjoyed a tasting at the Bastijana winery, as well as dinner as new upscale wine bar Artichoke in Jelsa, where in addition to the excellent squid, he became acquainted with the Tomic Veliki Plavac Mali over dinner with Andro.

It must have made a lasting impression, as the Wines of Croatia Facebook cover photo has captured the memory for posterity.

Thanks for your vist and for the promotion, Clifff, and we look forward to seeing you in Jelsa again soon.

If you are an old friend, a potential business associate or just curious about Tomic wines, come and visit us!

Tomic and Master of Wine Jo Ahearne: A Vintage Partnership

Bastijana has been priviliged over the last 14 months to have enjoyed a great working relationship with Master of Wine Jo Ahearne, who in a short space of time has become part of the Tomic family.

Jo arrived last summer with the plan to make her own wine on Hvar, and it has been a thoroughly fascinating exchange of ideas and skills over that time, which have included two harvests. Bastijana has been delighted to help Jo in any way possible, while also benefiting from her considerable expert wine knowledge.

Jo is a regular visitor to the winery in Jelsa from her own base in Sveta Nedjelja, and we look forward not only to continued cooperation, but trying her eagerly awaited wines when they become available!

Tomic Wine Fans Show Their Appreciation in Different Ways

Customers who try Tomic wines expression their appreciation in different ways. The most common way is to murmer a few words of approval during the tasting, perhaps to send a message of thanks after the event. Still others take to social media and blogs to express their satisfaction.

But for some, inspiration gained from Tomic wines leads to creativity, as is clearly the case at Art Farm Mola Blaca on the UNESCO Stari Grad Plain, who recently posted on Facebook that not only was Tomic 'our favourite wine', but they had also designed their own Tomic logo and t-shirts!

Many thanks, and we look forward to seeing you at the Tomic winery soon.
